Council Members are elected at-large and serve staggered four-year terms. Elections are held on the first Tuesday of November of even-numbered years. The next municipal election for consideration of three council seats is November 4, 2008.
Selection of Mayor
Each year, the Council reorganizes its leadership at the first City Council meeting in December. At that time, the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are selected to serve for the following year, beginning January 1st.
Council Meetings
City Council meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at City Hall, located at 12 Journey, Aliso Viejo, 92656. Meetings start at 7:00 pm and are open to the public. Agendas are available by calling the City Clerk's office at 949-425-2505, or click here.
